Many of our patients are concerned about the appearance and health of the skin around their eyes. As our skin and facial features begin to age, it is common to develop fine lines and wrinkles and a decrease in the number of eye lashes. Depending on the desired outcome each patient hopes to achieve, different non-surgical treatments may be used to enhance the appearance of your eyes.
Wrinkles may be grouped into two types: Dynamic Wrinkles, which are formed when muscles contract. Static Wrinkles, which are lines or depressions that exist even when there is no muscle action or pull on the skin. Dynamic wrinkles are best treated with BOTOX® Cosmetic, whereas Static wrinkles are best treated with substances that plump up and fill out the problem lines. These substances such as JUVÉDERM® are known medically as "dermal fillers" or “gel fillers”.
For many patients, cosmetic products and lash enhancers may also help to minimize the effects of aging. Our doctors use Latisse as a medicated lash enhancer and the skincare lines of Neocutis and iS Clinical® to help patients enhance the appearance of youth and vitality around their eyes.
