Bladeless Intralase LASIK
We provide LASIK Eye Surgery using an advanced procedure called Bladeless or Blade-Free All Laser LASIK using IntraLase™ FS femtosecond flap-creation technology. This special laser allows our corneal specialists to create a LASIK flap with the use of laser technology, providing a smoother, more precise flap which in turn allows for better visual outcomes and fewer possible complications.
LASIK doctors traditionally use an instrument called a microkeratone, a metal, hand-held blade that is moved across the eye in order to create LASIK flaps. Alternatively, the InraLase Method enables your doctor to create a corneal LASIK flap without the use of any blades!
The IntraLase Method creates a corneal flap using rapid pulses of laser light. These pulses pass through the top layers of the cornea, forming a microscopic bubble. Once a uniform layer of bubbles has formed, a corneal flap is made by gently separating the tissue where the bubbles have formed.
Including prep time, this procedure typically takes about ten minutes, with the IntraLase flap creation process itself lasting approximately fifteen seconds per eye.
